Nerd Nite PGH: July

  • Spirit Hall 242 51st Street Pittsburgh, PA 15201 United States (map)

Nerd Nite is a monthly lecture event that strives for an inebriated, salacious, yet deeply academic vibe. It's often about science or technology, but by no means is it limited to such topics. And it's definitely entertaining. This will the third event since starting in Pittsburgh! If you like alcohol, learning about random and interesting things, and meeting other nerds this is for you! To facilitate mingling setup is with mostly long communal tables and we'll be running trivia to win free drinks! Doors open at 7, show starts at 7:30. Got two speakers lined up but we need one more! If you have a topic you are passionate about and you’d like to be a speaker get in touch at pittsburgh@nerdnite.com! Speakers we have now are:

Lizzee Solomon - Lizzee Solomon is a visual artist and designer based in Pittsburgh, PA. New York City born, Chicago suburbs raised, Carnegie Mellon School of Art trained. She's also housebroken, is learning how to dance Salsa and speaks Spanish - Presenting: 'Cuba for Dummies'

And me! Your MC Rorry Brenner - When I'm not hosting Nerd Nites or climbing rocks, I work as a Robotics Research Scientist. Computer Science undergrad at CMU and couldn't figure out why robots were so blind so went off to USC to get a PhD in neuroscience - Presenting: 'Comptuer Vision, Artificial Neural Networks, and How the Brain can Inspire A.I.'
